Having had a troubled adolescence, I was aware of how easy it is the fall through the cracks. Substance abuse led to an eerie period of my early adult hood. It was then that I decided that although challenging, I needed to embark on a journey of change. I made advances in my personal life which allowed me to study and gain the professional skills needed to not only help myself but others too. This journey gave me a different perspective; an understanding of the suffering of others and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those who were dealing with the consequences of addiction, abuse and mental health issues. I have worked as a professional counsellor for the past 26 years, 16 years as a counsellor in an American College prior to joining Covenant in the Summer of 2008..

I have had the absolute privilege of working with David at Covenant Youth & Family since the summer of 2008. David is the perfect expression of what a Clinician should be. He is indeed “A Prince among men.” He is loyal, kind, supportive, understanding and truly an asset to the Covenant team and to his consumers. Blessings to you David.

David appears to have a great sense if empathy for his clients. He demonstrates a great understanding and ability to identify with other's experiences. David experience allows him to empathize with a wide variety of people, understanding their choices and feelings even if, as a therapist does not share the same views. David is emotionally attuned to individuals' needs, and has a great capacity to help identify and articulate their feelings in a safe supportive space. David exemplifies a great compassion for the growth of his clients through positive and accepting communication, effective listening, and positive support.
